Ten years in the music industry is considered a milestone now, twenty years is highly improbable and thirty years seems almost near impossible. The latter is the case for Rush. In their thirty-second year as a band, Rush is still selling out venues across the world and shows no signs of letting up.
On July 21, 2010 Rush brought their Time Machine tour to the Susquehanna Bank Arts Center in Camden, NJ. With no opening band, Rush came on at 7:30pm and played almost a three-hour set. Singer and bassist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Pert strolled onto the stage after a short video played on the screen behind Pert's drum kit. Several of these videos were shown throughout the bands set, one included "I Love You, Man" stars Jason Segal and Paul Rudd. After eleven songs they took a small intermission (much needed since all the members of the band are over the age of fifty-five) and started into the main attraction: playing their 1981 album Moving Pictures in its entirety, which was absolutely incredible to witness. After the album was completed, they went on to play another eight songs. After a whopping twenty-six songs totaling almost three hours, Rush finally finished one of the best performances I'd ever witnessed.Chip Tamplin
